Elisa Shafiqah is the Head Advisor of Malaysian Youth Diplomacy. She holds a BA in International and Strategic Studies at Universiti Malaya and currently a part of the UNODA Youth Leader Fund for Nuclear Weapons. She has worked on peacebuilding and international affairs for over 5 years at various levels. She was the former UN Youth Delegate of Malaysia to the UN General Assembly in 2022 and is a part of several networks promoting youth diplomacy notably the UN Major Group of Children and Youth on Youth, Peace and Security & Disarmament Working Group and United Network of Young Peacebuilders. Despite being 22, she was conferred the ASEAN Youth Peace Figures by the ASEAN Secretariat and has been instrumental in working on several international mediating and peacebuilding processes related to youth with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia and the UN Youth Office over the years. She is now attached with the Ministry of Defence Malaysia looking into contemporary security affairs encompassing CBRNe disarmament and PCVE.
