Former Visiting Fellow, National Chengchi University
I hold over a decade of work experience as a researcher on China studies, and have been associated with think tanks in India and Taipei. My research interests include Chinese domestic politics/ CCP elite politics, Party Institutions, and Internal Security Bureaucracy.
I have recently been selected for the 12- member ‘Quad China Task Force’ conceptualised by ORF-America and ASPI-DC. In 2020, I was awarded the prestigious ‘Taiwan Fellowship’ by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan. Under my project for the Fellowship Programme, I conducted research on the United Front Works Department (UFWD), and its activities in the South Asian region.
I have also been a recipient of the ‘Huayu Scholarship’ to pursue advanced- level in Mandarin from the prestigious National Taiwan Normal University. Between 2020- 2023, I served as a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University (NCCU). During my residency at NCCU, I focused upon understanding the influence of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission (Zhengfa) within Chinese elite politics. I also tried to study the CCP cadre recruitment pattern since the 19th Party Congress.
In 2019, I was selected to be part of the cohort to visit China for a study trip organised by the Guangxi School of Public Administration. In the same year, I represented India at the National Development Course conducted by the Ministry of Defence, Taiwan.
My writings have appeared in several academic journals, and I contribute regularly to mainstream national dailies like the Indian Express, The Hindu, Taipei Times etc. As part of my work, I have participated in several Track II initiatives, and have presented my research at national and international forums.
